I am going to ask you to join me in a little game – a game of life. This game is known as the Journey of Adjustment. This game begins with the plot of a story – a story about you and me – a story which will unfold progressively during the course of this book and which will come to its conclusion once you have grasped wherein lies the key to happiness.

Men and women have discarded the obvious infavour of intellectual complexity, and, as a result, have lost touch with their feelings, including those feelings that pertain to the mystery of gender.

No one can tell you how to become a female, for every female is unique. Other women can tell you what being female means to them, but how is that going to help you when you are not the same as them? The only true learning there is, is learning about the self, for man is the microcosm of the macrocosm. The true Scholar has known for ever that it is insanity to assume that we can understand life, and therefore the world around us, unless we acknowledge that we too are a part of this ineffable mystery we look upon as being life, and which we are wanting to fathom and understand.
